KoalaAustralia Zoo – The Ultimate Wildlife Adventure

1638 Steve Irwin Way,  Beerwah   QLD 4519

Delivering conservation through exciting education!

Located an hour north of Brisbane, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo is a team of passionate conservationists working around-the-clock to deliver an animal experience like no other.

Steve and Terri Irwin’s vision has always been to make Australia Zoo the biggest and best wildlife conservation facility in the entire world, and there is no other zoo like Australia Zoo.

Our day starts at 10am and we head to Roo Heaven (- A large, naturalistic home for our kangaroos, where you can hand-feed to your heart’s content!) Where we learn the basics of our camera, composition and portraiture.

Next we walk through the Koala sanctuary where you can pat one of the cuddly koalas and practice what we just learnt.

Lunch will be at 12 o’clock so we can watch the Wildlife Warriors show in the Crocoseum. (Don’t forget to bring something yummy to eat).  One of the best live animals shows I’ve seen and I’ve been to many zoos around the world!!  This one is exciting!

Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors

The Crocoseum – Are you ready for some serious wildlife action? Our keepers and their amazing animals will take you on a slithering, swooping, jaw-snapping adventure of epic proportions!

After the that heart racing show we learn all about speed and why it’s important.  We learn how to capture and freeze motion for sharpness and creativity.  This is a fun lesson.

It will be a very full but fun day.  I hope you can join us!

Michelle Kennedy is a mother of 14 year old Hunter, who at the age of six won the Lord Mayors photographic award  (2007) from Michelle’s teachings.

Michelle has had a love of photography since picking up her dad’s camera at 4 and taking photos of ducks. Receiving her first camera at 7 years old and buying her first SLR at 15, Michelle has over 30 years experience and a passion for photography that is contagious.

The kids workshops were formed when other parents asked Michelle to train their kids and everyone had so much fun that Radiant image Photography adopted it as an on going option for school holiday fun.  (We’re not sure who has more fun – Michelle or the kids!!)

Michelle has a blue card and whilst team leader at Victoria Point Santa Photos in 2013 received multiple compliments from Santa, Centre Management and many Parents about how much better the photos that year were compared to the last years because she took the time to make each family feel special and comfortable and captured real smiles not fake ones.  Michelle has immense patience, fantastic teaching skills and loves sharing her passion with the next generation of photographers.
